About Us
The Ground
Ferndale Shooting Club was established in 1984 and has a rich history of Clay Pigeon Shooting in The Rhonnda Valleys and South Wales Area.
Situated at the top of the Rhondda Fach Valley, between Ynysybwl and Ferndale and close to Llanwonno and the renowned Church of St. Gwynno and the Brynfynnon Hotel.
Our Opening Times are as Follows:
Summer
Thursdays 12pm till 7pm
Saturdays 9am till 4pm
Winter
Thursdays 12pm till Dusk
Saturdays 9am till 4pm
Shooting Information
We are fully licensed and insured for License Holders and complete beginners and offer a range of targets suitable for novices and the experienced shooter.
We are affiliated to Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA), Welsh Clay Target Shooting Association (WCTSA) and Welsh Target Shooting Federation (WTSF)
We have members who are First Aid qualified and qualified Safety Officers and the club has a full and comprehensive Health & Safety Policy
The Club
Whilst visitors are able to shoot at the ground as guests (fully licensed) and we cater for taster sessions and group bookings, the strength of the club lies within its membership.
We are a friendly, welcoming club that embraces new shooters and are our members are always willing to help and offer advice (even if you don't want it!) where you can enjoy a cup of tea and a chance to bemoan all the targets you've missed!
As a member you will benefit from discounted prices and a loyalty scheme, not to mention the camaraderie of your fellow shooters.
As a club we field a competitive team (Ferndale Falcons) in the local leagues and have been very successful in recent years.
Also as a club we organise and take part in Shooting trips away, from local trips, game fairs to competitions aboard such as the Gator Cup in Florida and the Asian Cup in Thailand.
Amongst our members, over the years, we have had many County and International shooters as well as a range of shooters in all classes up to AA.
COVID-19 Shooting Information
Due to the current social distancing guidelines, Ferndale Shooting Club systems have changed to meet these new rules and therefore shooting is by PREBOOKING ONLY until further notice.
